Sherry this is for you..

(tell us about yourself and why did you choose to be in civil engineering)
good afternoon. first of all let me introduce myself, i am Nur hidayah Abdul Halim and i come from terengganu. i have a family of six including both of my parents who are working and three other sisters. the second daughter, my first sister had just finishing her SPM and now going to further her study in India for dentistry. the other sisters are still in secondary and primary school.being the first daughter of the family you can see me as a very independent and resposible person. i choose civil engineering because i like seeing how things are built and i think civil connects me well.

(where is the farthest place you have been?)
coming from terengganu i believe that being in johor is the farthest from my hometown. going to johor took me about 10 hours in the bus. its a tedious journey if i may say. but being in johor i am exposed to a different community. the people are friendly and very open minded. its quite different from the people in my hometown. there are many people who are willing to help me in adjusting to new place and i really enjoy the warm welcome i get when im in johor. i've been to danga bay and it is so beautiful. since i am self motivated i always find johor a very interesting place to be and i believe other than my hometown, i like to be in johor the most.
aaaa..tipuny...

(the most challenging things in your life for now)
im a person who love to learn new things and i enjoy exploring different skill. so, for the sake of improving myself and also to gain some money for my study i used to work at a confectionary store. it is a fresh challenge for me because i had to take two buses to go to work everyday. there are two shiefts starting from 8 am to 3 pm and from 2 pm to 11.30pm.for your information i work in puchong after my matriculation. working in a confectionary store is not as easy as i thought it would. i have to memorize many codes and information about cakes and pastries to help the customers. i can say that the job has helped me to improve my communication skill and also increase my knowledge in the things i never know before. eventhough i work there just for a short period and the pay actually didnt reach my expectation i guess it is worthed for the sake of learning new skill.

byk lagi soalannya tapi penat aku nak taip..ada dua soalan yang aku rasa sangat2 menarik. jadi aku nak kongsi sikit

(between male and female which of these two can be better engineer?)
i must say that i believe both genders have unique potential of being a good engineer. in the matter of work i believe both genders can excell and the issue of which is better should never be a discussion because the quality to be a good engineer is not determine by genders but how they present themselves as an engineer. so, in short i say both men and women share the equal chance of being a great engineer.

(if say among the three of you we have another candidates who come from a poor family, he lives in a house with no electricity (ect..ect..ect) to who should we give this scholarship if we have to choose from four of you)
i agree that family background have an impact in choosing the best candidate to receive this scholarship. however, i dont think it is wise or even fair to give away the scholarship to the poor candidates just because he or she is poor. we have the same chance to get this scholarship. and if we show that we are better than the fourth candidates with better attitude and more quality to offer Gamuda i believe the best showmanship deserve the scholarship. i think gamuda is searching for a well rounded student who can offer gamuda more potential thus family background and social status should be made second and the chance should be made fair to all candidates who apply for this scholarship.
