I have a friend..
Her name is Jannah.. Like the heaven.. the garden of Eden..
But I call her Jane. I don't know if she notices..
Sometimes I wonder if she hates me for calling her that.
Sorry, Jane. I just really like calling you Jane.

Fun fact : Heaven in Urdu is "jannat". Like the lyrics from the song Chaiyya Chaiyya
Jinke sar ho ishq ki chaaon, paaon ke neeche jannat hogi
Those who walks in the shade (path) of love, will have heaven beneath their feet
And urdu, according to the lyricist, is a melodious language. I agree.. even before understanding hindi/urdu (they sound very similar to my foreign ears) I found the language very poetic.
Voh yaar hai jo khushboo ki tarah, voh jiski zubaan urdu ki tarah
She's a fragrance-like friend, her speech is like urdu (poem)
This is a loose translation because if I were to translate it word by word it would be a bit hard to grasp the meaning.
voh = her/him
yaar = friend/companion
hai jo = which/ she is/ he is
khushboo = fragrance/ perfume
ki tarah = is like
jiski = her /his/ the
zubaan = tongue
urdu = the urdu language
I'm very passionate about language. Language is a beauty no matter where it originates from. Help, I might be obsessed.
Adieu
p/s: I'm learning watercolour.. it's bad, I know. But that's how you get better. You are bad at it, work on it and get better.
p/p/s: Drawing tablet is off limit for the time being. Replacing the pen nib.. ugh..
